An extensive newspaper collection of Hood County newspapers is located at the Center for American History at The University of Texas in Austin. All of the above Hood County newspapers, excluding the Lipan Live Wire and Hood County News, may be viewed in original form or by microfilm.

The Center for American History is a special collections library, archive, and museum that facilitates research and sponsors programs on the historical development of the United States. The Center supports research and education by acquiring, preserving, and making accessible research collections and by sponsoring exhibitions, conferences, symposia, oral history projects, publications, fellowships, and grant-funded initiatives.

The Hood County newspapers may be viewed in Austin at the Center's administrative offices in Sid Richardson Hall, Unit 2, on the east side of The University of Texas campus adjacent to the Lyndon B. Johnson Library. Ample public parking is available directly east of the Center. Public hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday throughout the year.
