I am searching for any info on William H. JAMES b 1865 in Granbury, Hood
Co., TX. Married Eliza Jane DAY 22 Dec 1888 in Granbury, Hood Co., TX.
Had the following children: Roy Day b abt 1894, Thomas Elvis b 27 May
1900, Jesse B. b 21 Oct 1903, William Basil b 22 Dec 1906. I know
William H. died in Acton, Hood Co., TX on 7 Aug 1929 and was buried in
the Acton Cemetery, but I'm trying to find out what the "H"
stands for in the middle name. Roy Day JAMES married Winnie TIDWELL and
also Anna Lee CLEVELAND. Thomas Elivs married Annie Bell KAYLOR. Don't
know anything about Jesse B. pr William Basil. Surely there has to be
some descedants that may know where these people settled. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks!

I need information on MARION FRANK GENTRY (b. July 7, 1871 in Denton
Texas.) On death cert. shows birth date and place. I have no information
on his father or mother living in Denton. I would like to have any
information that SAMUEL (Father) and MARY (Mother) GENTRY lived in the
Denton area in 1870's. I do know that MARION FRANK had older brothers.
Names were JOSEPH N. GENTRY, JIM Gentry, GEORGE M. GENTRY.
Do you have any specific information on any of the GENTRY family? I would
be willing to share information I have on the families.

FANNING - FANNIN, am searching for Nathan and Rebecca Jane Wilson
Fannin(g). Nathan was the son of Thomas and Sarah (Sally) DOAK? He was
born in Lincoln Co. Tn. in abt. 1836. Family left Tn. in the late 1840's.
On Rusk Co. Tx. census 1860 and Kaufman Co. census 1870.
Md. Rebecca in Bond Co. Ill. Aug. 23, 1865. Was in the 1870 Bond Co.
Ill. census. In the 1880 Hood Co. Texas census as Fleener for surname.
Have records that show him in Hood co. as late as 1885. Was suppose to
have died in Willis, Marshall Co. Oklahoma in 1891.
Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated.

HAMMACK/HAMMOCK/HAMMICK ( the name was spelled many ways) Searching for
the birthplace of my grandfather William Riley HAMMACK, April 5, 1878,
believe to be Hood COUNTy. Also the date of death and place of buriel of
his father William HAMMACK/HAMMOCK. We know William died before 1880,
his wife appears on the 1880 tax list as owner of 160 acres of land and
he was the original grantee. Her name was Narcissa Jane HAMMOCK. Any

I am searching for birth place of grandfather William Riley HAMMACK, born
April 5, 1878 and death place of his father William. The father died
before 1880. Mother of grandfather was Narcissa Jane WILLIAMS.
Also searching for gr gr grandfather Ambrose Gore WILLIAMS< who died
in Texas in 1902. He also went by A.G. WILLIAMS. Ambrose was a
methodist minister and may have gone to Hunt County since most of my
relatives are buried there in McWright Cemetery. In 1902, there was an
obit noting his death in Benton County, Ar.
Looking for relatives of A.L. MASON , married in Lamar County, Tx in 1847
to K. TICHNER. Son William Elonzo was born 1848 and married Martha Ann
PEEBLES.
Any help would be appreciated

Family hsitory has it that my grandparents, Nicholas Alvin ACUFF and
Margie Elizabeth HAVENHILL, went to Cresson to get married (they eloped).
This occurred between 1900-1910. If they got married in Cresson, I
assume this means they would have gotten their marriage license in Hood
County. If there is a way someone could check this out for me, I plan to
be back in Texas in August and could like to get a copy.

I am tracing back my grandfather's (William Henry GODSEY) side of the
family, Through W.H.'s records, I've found that his mother Was Laura
PAIR born in Texas. It's not clear where, but in different medical
records I have been able to find the names Glen Rose, Texas, and
Cleburne, Texas. I believe John H. GODSEY was from MO. John H. may have
been born around 1798. John H. and Laura has 6 children born in Waco,
Texas, or Hood County, Texas. The children were William H. Godsey,
2/24/1875; Lucy Godsey; Laura Godsey; Virginia Gladys Godsey, Tom
Godsey; and John Godsey.
I'm new at this and would appreciate any help I could get.
