PECAN PLANTATION BITS

A Mississippi native who has been a Texas transplant for 28 years, Diane Long is a wife, mother and English teacher who has written Pecan Plantation Bits for 14 years cumulatively. She spends her time gathering neighborhood news and teaching students how to avoid passive voice.

Living in Pecan Plantation offers many advantages, the greatest of which is the people. One of the ways new residents of our community may initially meet folks is at New Member Orientation, facilitated by Pecan’s Membership Orientation Committee. Twice monthly, committee members welcome new Pecaners and acquaint them with the amenities of our neighborhood. Long-term residents are also welcome to greet new neighbors as well as to stay informed on Pecan events and happenings.

An orientation session is happening today, Saturday, June 10, at 10 a.m. in the clubhouse ballroom. Folks wanting to register for the next orientation gathering or receive more information about the sessions may contact Jimmy Flannigan of Pecan member services (817-573-2641, extension 335) or email Kathie Schoepf at kschoepf@charter.net.
