Although a little different, Santa’s House continues to bring the magic

Posted

With his big heart, Santa is ready to hear from children

Christmas is the season for joy. Perhaps even spend some quality time with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

“Santa has more joy than you know, seeing those smiles while everlasting memories are made,” Mrs. Claus said.

Hood County elves work each year to reconstruct Santa’s House at the gazebo on the Historic Granbury Square. This magical house has given many in town a place to meet Santa free of charge since 2015.

As folks queue up for a visit with the jolly St. Nick, children can enjoy Santa’s sleigh and find all the mysterious gifts painted on Santa’s door. The area by the gazebo is transformed into a veritable North Pole. This is an activity anyone can enjoy. Santa and Mrs. Claus ask that guests practice safety protocols to keep everybody safe.

Once inside Santa’s House, face coverings or masks are not required since Santa and Mrs. Claus are sitting behind clear Plexiglas.

“One time, a lady in her 60s walked down the street, came running, jumped on Santa, and hugged him,” Mrs. Claus said with a twinkle in her eye.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are also seeking volunteer elves to help with the workload. Show up 10 minutes early in Christmas-themed hats, gloves or ugly sweaters.
