Returning to in-person meetings this month, the North Central Texas (Granbury) Civil War Round Table will gather Monday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Spring Creek Barbeque, 317 E Highway 377. It’s the first in-person meeting since the pandemic hit in the spring.

Historian Richard B. McCaslin will speak on “The Last Stronghold,” which is the title of his book.

McCaslin is known as a legend among scholars of Civil War history having written or edited 18 books, seven of which have won awards. His biography of Robert E Lee was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
