‘Little Women’ production coming to Granbury Opera House

Granbury Theatre Company will continue its 2022 Broadway on the Brazos season with “Little Women” on April 8-May 1 at the historic Granbury Opera House in downtown Granbury.

According to Music Theatre International, the musical is based on the life of Louisa May Alcott and follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested. Her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

Starring as the March sisters are Reagan Moss, Elizabeth Miller, Eme Looney and Juliette Wood. Also in the cast are Cayley Davis, Kat Endsley, Jonah Hardt, Four Rose Ivie, Dan Powderly, Thomas Powderly and Cameron Vargas.

The musical is under the direction of an all-female artistic and technical team. Director Devon Kleine is assisted by Natalie Guess. Music is led by Haley Twaddell with choreography by Makenna Clark. Designers for the production are: Maddie Almond, props; Vivian Alonso, sound; Devon Kleine, set; Eme Looney, costumes; Whitney Shearon, lights. Bentleigh Nesbit is the stage manager assisted by Kathleen Powderly. 

Regular performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Discounts are available for seniors aged 65 and older, active duty military service members, veterans, children and students. Online and box office processing fees apply. The Granbury Opera House is at 133 E. Pearl Street, on the square.
