Looking for a summer job in Granbury? Here are some that offer fun in the sun

Summertime and the living is easy unless you’re sweating to earn a few bucks. But even then, who says it can’t be fun?

The city of Granbury is taking applications for part-time seasonal jobs that include beach monitors, concession attendants, and lifeguards. Hours include days, evenings, and weekends.

Beach monitors enforce rules at City Beach Park, the beach area on East Pearl Street near the square. Beach monitors are different from lifeguards. Those who swim at that location do so at their own risk.

The duties of beach monitors include checking bags and coolers, helping to keep the beach area clean, monitoring guests, and contacting law enforcement or first responders if needed.

Applicants must be 18 or older.

Lifeguards and concession workers are needed for the Dana Vollmer Municipal Swim Center at 400 N. Park Dr. Concession employees will work the athletic fields as well. Both positions are open to those 16 and older.

Duties for concession attendants include preparing concession items for sale, collecting and reporting money from sales, making change, cleaning up around the stand, and assisting in preparing program information.

The job also involves a knowledge of state rules on food service sanitation and food handling. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Applicants should be in good physical condition, able to stand for extensive periods of time, and strong enough to lift up to 50 pounds.

Lifeguard jobs are open to those who have Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, YMCA, or BSA lifeguard certification and Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR for Professional Rescuers training.

Information on how to apply for these positions can be found under “Human Resources” at granbury.org online.
