Attention, golf afficionados: a new sports bar and restaurant that is set to open in October may just become your favorite place outside of an actual golf course.

Mulligans Golf & Sports Bar, to be located on more than five acres, will feature golf simulators and putting simulators with TrackMan technology. Golfers will be able to virtually play 68 golf courses around the world and take lessons from PGA professionals.

“It’s not Putt-Putt,” said owner Bruce Baird, retired founder of the Granbury Dental Center. “This will be for golfers.”

Mulligans Golf & Sports Bar will be a 10,000-square-foot facility located at 6021 East US Hwy. 377 near Fall Creek Highway. The site is on the right past Tri Tex Grass as you head toward Cresson.

Granbury architect Brian Gaffin designed the project.

The site has already been cleared, and Baird said that concrete for a “provisional building” will be poured sometime next month.

Baird said that when the weather is pleasant, “garage doors” at Mulligans will be opened to outside seating and to what he said will be, at an acre and a quarter, the largest outside putting area in the country. It will have artificial turf.

“We will be able to host corporate outings as well as renting the golf bays out for Super Bowls and other major sporting events,” he said.

There will also be a stage for live music and entertainment.

Inside, there will be TVs and a 1,000-square-foot green where “cameras come down and line your putts for you so you can practice.”

As for the menu, that is still being decided. Baird said he has enlisted a restaurant consultant who has done “some amazing projects.”

Baird said that Mulligans will offer memberships and that those who would like to do so can participate in crowdfunding.
