IT’S A GIRL: Lia Noelle Ezernack, a 9-pound girl, was born on Dec. 15, 2020 to parents Annalise Ezernack and Chris McClendon of Granbury. At birth, Lia Noelle was 21 inches long.

County receives first allotment of COVID vaccines
The COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Hood County on Monday.
Livestock show still on next week, with COVID-19 restrictions
shows have been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns, but the Hood County Livestock Raisers Association plans to host its annual show next week, with restrictions.The 66th Hood County Junior Livestock Show kicks off Tuesday morning in the Courts Cleveland Show Barn on the Granbury Reunion Grounds.
Frances Carolyn Wamble Southward
Frances Carolyn Wamble Southward slipped peacefully away on December 21, 2020 at Harris Hospital in Ft. Worth with her three children at her side. She had suffered a devastating cardiac arrest just six days prior. She leaves behind family members that will forever cherish her memories, including her husband of sixty years, Karl Southward of Nemo, Texas; her son, Kris Southward and his wife, Karen, of Abilene, Texas; her daughter Kelli Alexander and her husband, Sam, of Sanger, Texas, and her daughter, Keri Barfield, and her husband, Randy, of Driftwood, Texas. Her loving legacy also includes her grandson, Samuel “Catfish” Alexander, and her three granddaughters Katelyn Fairfield, Karaline Burnam, Karli Smith, and their respective spouses Robert, Luke and Caleb; and her four great-grandchildren, Ryder, Alvis, Abigail and Kaisley. She treasured her nephews Paul and Mark, and her niece, Lisa, as her own. She loved her many cousins and their families, and her church family at the Granbury Church of Christ, as well. Her parents, Albert and Mattie Wamble, and her beloved brother and his wife, Glenn and Aggie Wamble, welcomed her with open arms into her new heavenly home!
Jerel Wayne Basinger
Jerel Wayne Basinger, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was born on January 1, 1937 to Clyde and Mary Basinger, and brother Weldon, on New Year’s Day. He was the very first baby of the New Year in Fort Worth, and his birth was celebrated throughout the town.

Dorothy Beard, 94, passed away on Thursday; December 24, 2020 at her home in Granbury.
Harry Frank Dean Sr.
Harry Frank Dean, 90, joined his beloved wife Sara, his mother, father, and his brothers Ben, Beale and John Arthur in heaven on December 19, 2020, due to complications from Covid.

Ronald Wade (Ronnie) Couch, age 80 of Granbury, Tx peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday December 23, 2020. Wayne Ford
Wayne Ford, 87, of Granbury, Texas passed away peacefully Sunday December 20th, 2020 in the arms of his wife after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Wayne was born on June 22nd 1933 in Lipan, Texas to Ira “Buck” and Bettie Emilene Ford.
Peggy Jean Turney
Peggy Jean Turney, known by her grandchildren simply as “Turney” was born in Coleman, Texas on January 27, 1927 and passed away in Decatur, Texas on December 10, 2020. She was 93 years old. She was a longtime resident of Granbury, Texas. During her life, she worked as a Dietician at Hood General Hospital and also in retail. Her greatest achievement was in raising 9 children. She is survived by 5 daughters - Connie Lewis, Karen Harrison, Kathy McGuire, Karla Church and Kelly Jones, and 4 sons - Robert Wolf, Mike Wolf, William Wolf and Jim Wolf as well as multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her children’s greatest memories are of how much she loved Thanksgiving and Christmas with all her kids at home. She will be greatly missed.
Robert (Bob) Nance Jr
Seventy-Six-year-old Robert (Bob) Lloyd Nance Jr. of Granbury, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020. Bob was born on July 14, 1944, to Robert Lloyd Nance Sr. and Ellen Lloraine Nance. He spent happy childhood years in Roswell, New Mexico, and then moved with his parents and three younger brothers to Fort Worth, Texas.

Service: 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2020, Lakeside Baptist Church, Graveside service: 11:00 AM, Monday, December 28, 2020, Dewey Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 26, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury. Corrine Brooks
Corrine Jeanette Jorgensen Brooks died on December 19, 2020 at Amarillo, Texas. She was born February 25, 1927 in Minneapolis Minnesota. Her parents were Alfred and Magna Jorgensen. The family moved to Garrison, Minnesota around 1930 where Corrine was raised. She graduated from Aiken High School in Aitkin, Minnesota and from a Business School in Minneapolis. She was an accomplished Comp trometer operator. She married William B. “Bill” Brooks in Hico, Texas on December 5, 1953. Bill worked for the Soil Conservation Service, and the Red River Valley Authority. They lived in Quanah, Childress, Pampa, Spearman and Wheeler, Texas before moving to Paris, Texas in May, 1974.
