Sharon Sturgis took Best of Show with her entry, BFF, at the Granbury Camera Club Show and Sale. Awards were announced at a public reception Saturday night. The show remains on exhibit through March 2 at The Shanley House Center for the Arts, 224 N. Travis.
Eighty-one photographs from 44 North Texas artists are included in the show.
The People’s Choice award will be named at the close of the show. Anyone attending may vote on their choice of photos to win this award.
Approximately $1,500 is awarded to prize winners. This year’s sponsor of the photography show and awards was Lake Granbury Medical Center.
Show judge Mary Vinson, who served as the Hood County News staff photographer for more than 17 years, relied on her 40-plus years of experience working as a photojournalist and in photography processing laboratories in the Metroplex to determine the award winners.
Vinson said, “The work displayed in this year’s Photography Show is visually stunning. As judge, I had to make some tough decisions.”
