Andrews, Wilson win Republican commissioner runoffs
Kevin Andrews and Jack Wilson are the victors in the Republican primary election runoffs for the Precinct 1 and Precinct 3 seats on the Hood County Commissioners Court. Wilson's win in the Precinct 3 race means that Mike Lang, the current state representative for House District 60, will no longer be an elected official once his term expires. Wilson swept the race with 65.13% of the vote to Lang's 34.87%. The number of votes was 1,870 for Wilson and 1,001 for Lang. Wilson will face Democrat Larry Anderson on the Nov. 3 ballot. In the Precinct 1 commissioner race, Andrews bested David Cook with 56.33% of the vote (934 ballots) to Cook's 43.67% (724 ballots).
