Authorities release name of apparent drowning victim

Authorities released the name of the woman who apparently drowned after her canoe overturned in the swift Brazos River Sunday afternoon. Marilyn Shields, 61, lived on Ravenswood in Pecan Plantation, not far from where her body was recovered in the river, according to Sheriff Roger Deeds.
