Mother, daughters ‘lose everything’ in fire

Friday, June 14, 2019

A mother and her two daughters lost their home and possessions to fire late Wednesday night. The blaze destroyed the recreational vehicle in which they were staying on Spring Court in Rolling Hills Shores northwest of Granbury.

Monica Jones and her daughters were not home at the time. “They lost everything,” said Juana Perez, Jones’ sister.

The cause of the fire was being investigated, Assistant Fire Marshal Casey Weaver said. Red Cross was notified to assist with the family.

Jones, 36, works at Dollar Tree in Granbury, Perez said. Jones’ daughters are 11 and 13 years old. Perez is reaching out to the community to help her sister.

“She is in dire need of gas cards because she won’t be able to get to her job she just started,” Perez said. She also needs hygiene products, household items and clothes.

Jones wears size 5 pants and size 8 - 8 1/2 shoes. Her daughters wear sizes 10/12 and 14/16. Shoe sizes 3/4 and 5 1/2 in women’s. Items can be left at Adore Lash Lounge Salon and Spa, 100 Gateway Hills Lane.

A GoFundMe account has been set up. CLICK HERE for details.
