Republicans to hold candidates forum

Wednesday, June 24, 2020

The Republican Party of Hood County will hold a candidates forum Thursday night at Granbury City Hall for candidates in the July 14 primary election runoff. The event will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and will begin with candidates for the Precinct 1 and Precinct 3 Commissioners Court seats. David C. Cook and Kevin Andrews are competing in Precinct 1, and Mike Lang and Jack Wilson are competing in Precinct 3. District 60 state representative candidate Jon Francis is planned to speak later in the evening, but his opponent, Glenn Rogers, will not be present due to scheduling conflicts. Rogers was also unable to attend a Republican Club forum held Tuesday night because he was campaigning in other parts of the district with former governor Rick Perry, who has endorsed him. Rogers told the HCN Wednesday morning that he would be in town that evening to speak to the Hood County Realtors Association. He attended a reception at Farina's on the square last Friday with Congressman Mike Conaway, R-Midland, who has also endorsed him. Thursday evening's forum is open to the public.
