Lake Granbury Goosebump Jump 2022 returned with a chilly challenge to benefit our community civic and charitable organizations. Saturday morning’s freezing temperatures and sandy wind gusts didn’t deter brave participants from gathering on the shores the City Beach Park to take the plunge for their favorite charity. The event is sponsored by the Granbury Area Lodging Association, Visit Granbury – City of Granbury, KHITS 95.5, and Hood County News. It is a friendly competition with funds raised from the $10 registration fee along with a $1,000+ prize generously provided by the lodging association to be awarded to the 501C3 organization that signs up the largest number of participants. The Goosebump Jump the kickoff event to the Winter-Guest Tourism Season in Granbury. This is a time when hotels, restaurants, and attractions offer special discounts and packages and increase guest benefits to incentivize visitors to visit in January and February. The event was “put on ice” in 2021 due to pandemic concerns so we are thrilled to have it return in 2022 – Tammy Dooley, Director Visit Granbury.
