Gary and Carolyn Merritt of Granbury are celebrating 50 years of marriage. The two were married on June 25, 1970 in Lubbock. In 1984 they settled in Granbury where Gary worked as an electrical contractor, and Carolyn was a rural postal carrier for 17 years. The couple has two sons and five grandchildren. Gary and Carolyn plan to celebrate this weekend with a backyard BBQ with their closest loved ones.
