Assault suspect found hiding in brush

Posted

Sheriff’s deputy vehicles raced to the scene of a reported assault and a man with a gun in Indian Harbor late Wednesday afternoon, April 14.

The 30-year-old suspect was found hiding in thick brush near the victim’s residence on Pawnee Trail. He was arrested and jailed on an assault charge and trespassing warrant, Sheriff Roger Deeds said. No gun was found.

The man and female victim knew each other, Deeds said. The suspect broke into the home after she told him to stay away, the sheriff said.

The woman was not seriously injured, but the suspect was taken to Lake Granbury Medical Center with a cut on his elbow apparently from negotiating the brush, Deeds said.
