Bank has grown to 160 employees, eight locations
First National Bank of Granbury (FNB Your Hometown Bank) began in 1887 when it received its national bank charter. It survived the Great Depression, two World Wars, and hung around and served as the life-blood of this small Texas town.
In 1969 Lake Granbury was filled and residential development began bringing in new families and changing the landscape of Hood County forever.
When I joined the FNB family In July of 1971, we had total assets of approximately $5,000,000 and about 15 employees. Today FNB has eight locations, 160 employees and over $700,000,000 in total assets! As Hood County has grown, FNB has expanded to meet the needs of our community, all the while out-performing new competitors for our market.
I believe the following are a few reasons for our success: stable and local ownership, conservatively progressive management, and our location in a growing geographic region. While we have been blessed, we have also taken advantage of what is put before us.
To this day, we are EXACTLY what defines a community bank. We are locally owned and operated. We focus on the needs of the business and the families where we do business. The people making decisions for FNB understand the local needs of families, businesses and farmers. Almost 5,000 community banks just like FNB are the mainstream support for small businesses and families across America. And small business is a big part of our national economy.
According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses (those with less than 500 employees) generate 44% of the U.S. economic activity. I am proud to say FNB supports small business!
FNB is the only true community bank - Your Hometown Bank - out of all other financial institutions in Hood County … all with main offices elsewhere.
Our majority owners live here, our executive officers live here and most of our employees live here as well. Hood County is where we spend our money, go to church and send our kids to school.
I personally invite you to visit us and experience for yourself what a true community bank feels like, and just like one-half the Hood County market, you will know the difference too!
