Batch next candidate set for GOP meet-and-greet
Hood County Republican Headquarters has been buzzing lately with visits from candidates seeking the Texas District 11 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Another Republican candidate, Brandon Batch, is scheduled to appear for a meet-and-greet at the Republican offices from 2-3 p.m. Saturday.
The address for the Hood County Republican Headquarters is 1315 Waters Edge Dr., Suite 116-7.
Batch was born in Odessa and was adopted by a Midland family after his mother died from complications of multiple sclerosis.
He played football for Midland High School and graduated from Texas Tech University.
Batch interned for U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul of District 10 and worked for him as an advisor for six years, advising the congressman on matters pertaining to foreign policy, energy and trade, according to the Midland Reporter-Telegram.
He describes himself as a conservative Republican.
So far, 10 Republicans, one Democrat and one independent are seeking to take possession of the District 11 seat when U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Midland, retires at the end of his current term.
