Bow-wowser

Posted

Pooch Plantation, Pecan’s off leash dog park, has provided a welcome spot during days of quarantine and sheltering in place.

Thanks to the donation of chairs to the area from generous members, folks have been able to socialize while abiding by social distancing guidelines.

Nancy Bates on behalf of the Friends of Pooch Plantation (FOPP) reminds dog owners to make sure gates to the park are secure upon entry and exit. A quick check of the latches will make sure canines are safely in their spots.

Pooch Plantation users are certainly enjoying the new addition of lights for folks who visit both early and late in the day. This added amenity, as with all additions to the dog park, was made possible by people holding memberships to FOPP. Pecan residents who would like to join the group may use the application located in The Columns or visit the PAC information desk.

ROADWORK

Construction on some roadways in Pecan began last week and will continue for several weeks to come with completion time depending upon the weather’s cooperation for work to progress.

Areas affected include portions of Hanging Moss, Prospect Hill, Pleasant Hill, Orchard Drive and the section of Bellechase doser to the Pecan clubhouse.

Workmen will do their best to expedite driveway blockings, and the plan includes one lane of traffic being open at all times. Hours of construction will last from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with intermittent Saturdays.

ELECTION DAY

Tuesday will bring runoff voting for local elections, and Pecaners may cast their ballots at the PAC from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

MASK UPDATE

Gov. Abbott’s recent face

covering order brings some effects to Pecan Plantation. In an effort to keep residents safe and healthy, the governing authorities of our community announce that all Pecan employees will be wearing masks during work hours and while inside Pecan facilities.

Pecan members are asked to wear masks while utilizing indoor neighborhood facilities, including the Pecan dubhouse, golf pro shop, tennis shop, marina store, security building and in areas of the PAC when not engaging in cardiovascular exercise.

Pecaners should supply their own masks as currently the association does not have a supply of disposable ones for the community.

Our board of directors and management desire for residents to enjoy the many amenities our community boasts in a safe and legal manner.

RV STORAGE

Because of an increase of COVID cases in our area, the temporary waiver of recreational vehide restrictions in Pecan will continue through July 31.

This waiver was instated to aid members needing to uti-lize an RV at their residence for self-isolation purposes and should not be substituted for more permanent storage or parking options.
