City to begin on street projects next month

Friday, May 10, 2019

Work to reconstruct several city streets will begin on June 3 and will continue through November.

Streets included in the project are: Misty Meadows Drive, Olson Court, North Travis Street, North Crockett Street, Brazos Harbor Drive and East Clifton Road.

Reconstruction will include replacing existing asphalt and base materials.

The aging water line on North Crockett Street will also be replaced, according to the city.

The work will be done by Jay Mills Contracting, Inc. The company has been awarded a contract for more than $1.16 million.

TRAFFIC CONTROL

A city press release stated that adequate traffic control devices will be installed at each location while work is being done.

“There will be inconveniences and disruptions during this construction period,” but the city and contracting company will work to keep them to a minimum, the press release stated.

Construction schedule updates will be posted on the city’s social media accounts.

Plans and specifications are available for public review at the city’s Public Works Department at 401 N. Park St.

Those with questions and concerns about the project can contact that department at 817-573-7030.
