City eyes fire protection for historic square buildings

Friday, December 21, 2018

Granbury city staffers have met with the city manager of Grapevine and other city employees there as part of research into protecting buildings on the historic square from fire. The city of Grapevine paid for fire protection infrastructure outside buildings on its square and owners of those buildings paid for indoor sprinkler systems either in a lump sum payment or through a payment plan with the city. The research is being done at the behest of former councilman Gary Couch, who stepped down from the council in November after serving two terms.
