The county’s brush yard at 1510 Weatherford Highway will be closed Wednesday, June 22, and Wednesday, June 29 for repairs and maintenance to the brush grinder, according to Road Operations Director Donald Linney.

It will reopen on July 6.

The Brush Yard is open on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. until noon.

A list of accepted items and fees can be found at https://www.co.hood.tx.us/311/Brush-Yard.

Fire Marshal Jeff Young encourages anyone considering controlled burning during the temporary closure to be cognizant of weather and wind conditions.

Burn notification forms can be found on the Fire Marshal’s page on the county’s website.

The form is unavailable when there are high winds.

Anyone with questions about outdoor burning or whether it is safe to do so can contact the Fire Marshal’s office at 817-579-3335 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
