The number of COVID-19 cases in Hood County remains the same as last week: 385, according to Hood County Emergency Management Coordinator Jay Webster’s latest update, issued Thursday afternoon (Oct. 28).

Occupancy of the ICU ward at Lake Granbury Medical Center continues to improve after being full for weeks.

According to Webster’s report, 75% of the hospital’s ICU beds are in use, with 44.44% of them occupied by patients who are COVID-19 positive.

The hospital’s overall capacity is 17.02% COVID-19 positive, another improvement over previous weeks.

Twelve people are hospitalized locally with COVID-19 issues, compared to 11 one week earlier.

The past week has seen six more deaths of Hood County residents who were COVID-19 positive.

The total number of COVID-19 positive deaths stood at 199 at the time Webster issued his report. Those numbers were reported by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

Hood County remains at high risk of COVID-19 transmission.
