COVID deaths continue; ICU beds remain full

Hood County has experienced seven more deaths related to COVID-19 since the county’s last report, issued one week ago.

The total of COVID-19 positive deaths reported by the Texas Department of State Health Services stood at 164 when Hood County Emergency Management Coordinator Jay Webster issued his weekly update shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 16).

The county has 871 active cases, with 24 local hospitalizations.

All of Lake Granbury Medical Center’s ICU beds are full.

COVID-19 patients make up 72.22% of the ICU’s capacity and 38.10% of the hospital’s overall capacity.

Hood County remains at high risk of COVID-19 transmission.
