Hood County had 385 active cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday afternoon (Oct. 21), according to Hood County Emergency Management Coordinator Jay Webster.
That number represents an increase of 18 over the previous week’s number.
There were five additional deaths related to COVID-19 over the seven-day period.
The total number of COVID-19 positive deaths for Hood County stood at 193 as of Thursday. Sixty-one COVID-19 positive deaths have occurred among county residents since July 20, based on numbers reported by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
There were 12 local hospitalizations due to COVID-19 at the time of Webster’s update, which was issued at 3:48 p.m.
For the first time in a while, Lake Granbury Medical Center’s (LGMC) ICU beds were not at 100% capacity. The capacity at the time of Webster’s update was 91.67%, with 72.73% of the ICU beds occupied by patients who were COVID-19 positive.
The hospital’s overall capacity was 22.64% COVID-19 positive.
