Crowley woman facing multiple charges

A 30-year-old Crowley woman is facing multiple charges after being arrested by Hood County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducting a traffic stop in Tolar, Lt. Johnny Rose stated.

Kimberly Renee Cummings was taken into custody after the stop was made at about 10 p.m. on May 21 in the 7800 block of Highway 377 West, according to the news release.

Rose noted that Cummings was found to be in possession of “several prescription pills without a prescription, a handgun, and multiple pieces of identifying information without the owner’s permission. While being booked into the Hood County Jail, Cummings was also found to be in possession of over 32 grams of meth," Rose said.

Charges against Cummings include: Possession of a controlled substance (second-degree felony, $30,000 bond); prohibited substance in a correctional facility (third-degree felony, $20,000 bond); fraudulent possession of identifying information (state jail felony, $20,000 bond); unlawful carrying of a weapon (Class A misdemeanor, $2,500 bond); and possession of a dangerous drug (Class A misdemeanor, $2,500 bond). She also had an assault warrant (Class A misdemeanor, $2,500 bond).
