Deputies: Suspect caught after fleeing

Sheriff’s office deputies attempted to stop a 31-year-old Hood County man on a traffic violation Wednesday about 7 p.m. on Mitchell Bend Court.

Brett Alan Houlton refused to stop and drove away, deputies said. He eventually stopped on River Country Lane, where he fled the vehicle and ran on foot, according to deputies.

He was apprehended after a short chase. Houlton was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, a third-degree felony. He remained in jail at press time.
