We here over and over, “it is my body to do with as I choose” but is it? A baby in the womb has its own DNA and blood type. It is totally different than the mother. The baby is separate. God has a lot to say about the sacrifi ce of babies. Proverbs 31:18 says, ‘speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves’. Did ancient Israel? The Hinnon valley south of Jerusalem was where some of the ancient Israelites “passed children through fire’ to the Canaanite god Molech. Isaiah called this valley Tophet. Jesus referred to it as hell and called it Gehenna. Even though the Bible is filled with this abomination to God (See Leviticus 18:21, 20:03, and Deuteronomy 12:30-31, 18:10), the people of Israel continued to sacrifice their children. Even kings such as Ahaz and Manasseh practiced child sacrifice. I am sure the people thought it must be ok if the king and the masses were doing it. Just like long ago, we are told today through social media, music, celebrities, and politicians that ‘it is your body and you can do with it what you want’. That behavior did not save Israel from destruction. It will not save America either. Since Roe vs Wade was passed in1973, allowing for abortion, over 59 million babies have been sacrificed to the god of convenience. 2900 babies are killed every day. 43% of those choosing to terminate their children claim to be protestant. 22 out of 100 catholic women abort their babies. Overall, 78% said they had a religious affi liation and only 22% said they had no religious affi liation. From those statistics alone, we as the church are not doing a good job speaking out against abortion and other abominations to God. We are supposed to be diff erent. We are supposed to cause those who do not follow God to be jealous of the peace we have and want to be like us. How can we call them to jealousy if we act just like them?

Abortion advocates justify their position by talking about rape and incest victims. Rape and incest are horrific crimes committed against women and children. However, the baby did not commit the crime. The baby is innocent. A baby’s heart beat begins 18 days after conception. The mother doesn’t even know she is pregnant yet. While it would be hard to carry a baby under these circumstances of rape or incest, studies show it is healthier for the mother to do just that. The reports show it helps the mother to emotionally heal better and learn to cope better. To abort these innocent children only compounds the emotional and physical health of the mother. Since the passage of Roe v Wade, America has been fed lie after lie, all in the pursuit of the almighty dollar and god of self. Due to the devaluation of life, crime has continued to climb. 40 % of all children go to sleep each night without a father in the house. Child and sexual abuse have risen astronomically, and Medicaid is in the red due to the lack of young people working and paying taxes. Because of the passage of Roe vs Wade, 59 million lives have been aborted. This is the population loss of states such as Michigan, New Jersey, Virginia, Washington, and Massachusetts. 2900 babies killed every day is the equivalent of a new 911 every day. Where do you stand? Whose side are you on? God’s or man’s? Who do you worship?
