Cinergy Granbury is offering a feel-good trip to the movies: Donate two cans of food and be entertained for free.

Patrons can choose to watch a movie the same day they drop off a donation, or get a ticket to watch a film later in the week, according to Traci Hoey, vice president of marketing for Cinergy Entertainment.

“Last year, with just the five locations, we were able to collect over a ton (literally the weight of the cans collected) of canned food items,” Hoey said in an email.

All showings are available for the food drive.

The theater requires masks for patrons and staff in compliance with state COVID guidelines. Cash will not be accepted and mobile ticket purchases are encouraged to minimize touching of surfaces, according to the theater website. Social distancing is enforced with theater seating limited to 50 percent of capacity.
