Fallen Veterans Memorial dedication set for Monday, May 29

Posted

The Hood County Fallen Veterans Memorial that was completed on the southwest corner of the Hood County Courthouse lawn this month will hold its official dedication on Memorial Day, May 29 starting at 12:30 pm. It will take place in conjunction with HGMA's program at the city stage on Bridge Street in Granbury. Many families of the fallen named will be in attendance. Please plan to attend this historical, honorable tribute.

Those named on this memorial — built on donations by the community and all who no longer wanted to see them forgotten — will be war heroes of Hood County. They will be those who have been born or raised in Hood County, Killed in Action (KIA) or Missing in Action (MIA) with war periods dating all the way back to the Spanish-American War of 1898. In addition to the memorial, a QR code will be available that allows each hero's biography to be immediately obtained on the Hood County Fallen Veterans website (www.HoodCountyFallenVeterans.org).
