The Blessed Baby Diaper Ministry of Southside Baptist Church recently received 12,772 diapers through its Dump Truck Diaper Drive.

Project organizers report that diaper need is a silent crisis in the United States.

“Diapers are a basic need for children, as essential to their health and well-being as food and shelter,” spokeswoman Kim Green said. “Yet nearly one in three families in America struggle to afford diapers for their children.”

The Blesssed Baby Diaper Ministry of Southside Baptist thanks everyone for all the diapers, wipes, monetary donations, help, and prayers, she added.

Assisting with the diaper drive project were H-E-B., Emma Roberson Elementary school Girl Scout Troop 2326, Richard Brock Sand and Gravel and the community.

In addition to the diapers, 16,450 wipes and monetary donations were given.
