GISD Trustees nominate Glenn for Superintendent of the Year

Granbury ISD Superintendent Jeremy Glenn is nominated for Superintendent of the Year by the Board of Trustees. The board adopted a nominating resolution on April 12 during its regular monthly meeting.

The Superintendent of the Year award program is sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards. Nominations are submitted to the various regional education service centers for consideration. Regional finalists are forwarded for evaluation by a statewide committee.

Glenn has 21 years of educational experience. He previously led Waxahachie ISD and Central Heights ISD near Nacogdoches.

“Under Dr. Glenn’s solid leadership, direction of staff, positive tone set in our schools, sound fiscal management and great community involvement, Granbury ISD has truly prospered and become the envy among our peers in the region since his coming aboard,” Board President Mark Jackson said. “In addition to this, his steady hand led us through the strangest of times in the last year for all school boards across the state. The COVID-19 pandemic and all the headaches it brought were sustainable because of his innovative ideas.”

Nominees must be in at least their third year of service with their current district, be a member of the Texas Association of School Administrators, hold a Texas superintendent certificate and meet ongoing professional education requirements, and be active as of the 2021 TASA/TASB state convention in September.

The award program has honored outstanding administrators for achievement and excellence in public school administration since 1984.
