GoFundMe account set up for family of crash victim

A GoFundMe.com page has been set up online for donations to help with funeral expenses for the family of Granbury resident Andrew Edward Simmons. Simmons died as a result of a one-vehicle accident on Nov. 14 in the 2100 block of Highway 377 East in Granbury, according to information provided by the Granbury Police Department.

The online GoFundMe donation page set up by one of his coworkers to benefit the Simmons family (https://www.gofundme.com/f/andrew-simmons?qid=d0cc68336e4e2c40398edff4907b4069) has its goal set at $5,000.

Simmons, who was 34, was employed at Farina’s Winery & Cafe as a server. He was born in Tyler and grew up in Coppell.

Simmons is survived by his parents, Eddie and Jena Simmons, his son, Alexander, along with uncles and cousins. He and his family moved to Granbury in 2010. His obituary also states that he was predeceased by his sister, Alice.

A private celebration of life service is being planned, according to his mother. His obituary is online at hcnews.com and is scheduled to be published in the Saturday, Nov. 20 edition of the Hood County News.
