Golden opportunity

The new Granbury Golden Chick, located at 1160 E. Hwy. 377, will officially open Monday, providing 35 jobs.

Owner Jim Stevens said Wednesday that he had filled about 25 of those positions but was looking to hire another 10 people or so for that store, plus another 10 for his Acton location.

The positions for the newly built Granbury restaurant include cashier, cook, shift leader, assistant manager and general manager. Some of the positions are full-time.

Stevens currently has someone serving as general manager, but the employee commutes 30 miles so Stevens is hoping to find someone local for that position.

The Arlington resident also owns Golden Chick establishments in Weatherford, Burleson and Crowley.

The Acton store will close on Monday, but only temporarily. It will undergo remodeling and reopen on New Year’s Eve, Stevens said.

Hours for the Granbury restaurant will be 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Anyone interested in applying for positions can stop by the Granbury store between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. while training is underway before Monday’s grand opening. Inquiries can also be emailed to inoocampo@gmail.com.

Pay is competitive, Stevens said, and varies depending on experience. The pay for crew positions ranges from $8-$12 per hour and management positions range from $12 to $20 per hour.

The Granbury store is located between Spec’s and the now-closed Taco Bueno, a short distance from Chicken Express.
