Goosebump Jump draws over 200 for snowy plunge

Wednesday, January 8, 2020

City Manager Chris Coffman (above) was the first participant down the snow-packed tubing hill Saturday at City Beach during the inaugural Goosebump Jump. Though the temperature was in the 50s, light snow was falling throughout the event thanks to a snow-making machine. While some squealed when their tube hit the water (right), others proclaimed the water wasn’t that cold. Participants warmed up under patio heaters and a hot tub at the Hilton Garden Inn. Free hot cocoa, coffee and cookies were served in the hotel lobby. The fi rst 200 participants received a souvenir Lake Granbury Goosebump Jump 2020 medal and custom towel. Plans are already underway for the second annual Goosebump Jump. Save the Date: Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021. See related story and pictures on P. 5. ROGER ENLOW | HOOD COUNTY NEWS
