GPD: Man facing two felony charges after traffic stop

A 41-year-old Granbury man was booked into the Hood County Jail on two felony charges after Granbury Police officers found methamphetamine “within reach” of two children in the vehicle during a traffic stop, according to Deputy Chief Cliff Andrews.

The traffic stop, in the 500 block of South Morgan Street, was for minor traffic violations, Andrews stated in an email to the HCN.

“The occupants were identified and two children ages 7 and 12 were identified as well. During the course of the stop, officers located methamphetamine in the possession of Mr. Jeffrey Scott Taylor, 41, of Granbury,” Andrews stated.

Taylor was arrested on a third-degree felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, along with a state jail felony charge of Abandoning or Endangering a Child, Andrews noted.

“The methamphetamine was stored within reach of the children, which was the reason for the child endangerment charge,” Andrews explained.
