A 34-year-old Granbury man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle accident early Sunday evening in the 2100 block of East U.S. Highway 377, according to information released by Granbury Police Department Deputy Chief Cliff Andrews.

Andrew Edward Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kathryn Gwinn at approximately 7:07 p.m. Sunday, Andrews stated in an email Monday afternoon.

Andrews stated, “Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears that the vehicle was traveling eastbound in the 2100 block of East U.S. Highway 377. The vehicle left the roadway striking a utility pole and marquee causing the vehicle to roll. The vehicle came to rest in a parking lot adjacent to the highway.”

No other details have been released, and Andrews said that the crash remains under investigation.
