Granbury man recognized for WWII service
Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Dewey Ray Christopher (left) was honored in June for his maintenance work on the ground to keep bombers in the sky during World War II. The Dewey R. Christopher Professional Development Center at the Royal Air Force Mildenhall Air Base in England was named for the 96-year-old Granbury man. “My friends and family call me Ray, but in England I’m known as Dewey,” Christopher said. Pictured with Christopher (from left) are Chief Master Sgt. Kristina Rogers (who came up with the idea to honor an enlisted member), Major Jamie Greg, Master Sgt. Curtis Brown and 100th Air Refueling Wing Commander Col. Troy Pananon. See page 7 for more about Christopher’s dedicated service.
