Head-on crash kills man on narrow FM Road 2580
A head-on crash killed a 30-year-old Granbury man on narrow FM Road 2580 northwest of Granbury.
The road (also known as Tin Top Highway) has been the scene of several fatality crashes in the last few years.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2016 Toyota Corolla, driven by 30-year-old Gage L. Jenkins of Granbury, was traveling north on FM 2580 Saturday morning, Aug. 22.
For an undetermined reason, the Toyota crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on, according to the highway patrol.
The Chevrolet, which was towing a flatbed trailer, left the roadway and overturned before coming to rest in the barrow ditch.
Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Cody A. Reed, 35, of Granbury, was transported to a Fort Worth area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
