High wind damages homes

Wednesday, March 13, 2019

Strong winds from a fast-moving thunderstorm damaged at least two homes in Hood County early this morning. No injuries were reported. Part of a roof was torn off in Brazos River Acres, and the wind "blew out" windows at a home in Blue Water Shores, the resident said. Trees were down in roadways, one on the Weatherford Highway near Lantana and another on Rollins Road in the Acton area that caused a minor accident. Power lines were reported down on Highway 377 near Cresson. Pecan Plantation resident Gary Marks said the "hortizontal rain" dumped 2.5 inches of rainfall.
