Learn healthy, quick meal prep Jan. 31 at ‘Freezer Club’
Learn to organize the preparation of three easy and nutritious main dishes in a single session.
“Hood County Freezer Club is a way to learn healthier cooking habits,” said Kelli Brown, AgriLife Extension Family and Community Health agent in Hood County.
The program is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at the Annex I meeting room, 1410 W. Pearl St.
“This method of preparing meals will promote more family meal time, fewer drive-thru trips, save time and money, and teach individuals the basics in freezing,” Brown noted.
The session will cover healthy eating, food safety, measuring, packaging and freezing meals and provide more online resources.
“Bring your friends or come meet new friends. You just need to RSVP by calling my office to attend,” Brown said. “We will provide all ingredients, cooking materials, storage containers, and recipes. Just show up to prepare the freezer meals at a low cost of $40. You can tailor the recipes to fit your family.”
Participants will be guided through the preparation and freezing of three (5-7 serving) main dishes.
