Crews were busily working to make the 5-story apartment complex at US Hwy. 377 and South Morgan Street go vertical the day after the Granbury City Council granted approval.
The morning after the Granbury City Council granted approval for the 5-story Dolce Vita project to go vertical, about 40 construction crew members began working to make it happen.
Dolce Vita will feature a sky lounge that will likely offer the best view in the county of the chamber's annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular over Lake Granbury.

Things are looking up for Dolce Vita, the tiered, 5-story apartment building for seniors being built at South Morgan Street/SH 144 and US Hwy. 377.
The Granbury City Council has granted conditional approval for the developer, Lakeside at Granbury by Dolce Vita, to begin vertical construction of the luxury waterfront complex.
The approval, given at a recent regular meeting, is contingent upon completion of a punch list.
The council granted the developer’s request for an extension of Dolce Vita’s Facilities Improvement Agreement, giving the construction crew six additional months to complete various items.
City Manager Chris Coffman said that the project is “ready to roll” but that the crew has been dealing with “supply chain issues,” particularly as it pertains to the building’s lift station pump and generator.
The developer was hoping to be able to move forward with vertical construction while being granted extra time to complete tasks on the punch list.
“They’re so hopeful that you’re going to approve this tonight, he’s got 40 people showing up tomorrow to start doing the framing,” Coffman told the council at its Nov. 16 meeting. “They’re chomping at the bit to get this built.”
The building was originally slated to be move-in ready by December.
Sixty percent of its 146 units will be one-bedroom, and the other 40% will feature two bedrooms.
The complex will have a clubhouse, dog park, zen garden, fitness facility, elevator, hair salon and sky lounge that will provide an enviable view of Granbury’s annual Fourth of July fireworks spectacular sponsored by the chamber.
Dolce Vita, Italian for “sweet life,” will also offer concierge service, with staff ordering food for residents through a corporate credit card and then billing residents monthly.
“It will be like living inside a Marriott,” owner Bernardo Pana said.
