Murder? Body found near burned car

Wednesday, July 3, 2019

The body of a 50-year-old woman was discovered outside her burned car in the dark, early morning hours.

Sheriff Roger Deeds said it appears that Anglea Perry Hickson, a Rolling Hills Shores resident, was the victim of foul play.

“We’re treating it as a murder investigation until proven otherwise,” Deeds said.

A neighbor reported the fire Thursday at 3 a.m. in the 4500 block of Tennessee Trail in Lake Granbury Harbor northwest of Granbury.

First responders discovered a severely burned body near the car, sheriff’s office Public Information Officer Lt. Johnny Rose said.

The body was identified after an autopsy at the medical examiner’s office, Rose said. Law authorities are waiting for more test results to determine the cause of death.

Investigators were trying to compile Hickson’s background.

“We are still working on the victimology,” Rose said.

Investigators talked with Hickson’s mother who said that her daughter had a boyfriend, Deeds said.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Hickson had a date Tuesday evening according to one of her sisters. Hickson planned to attend her father’s birthday last Wednesday but never made it, the sister told the newspaper.

The sheriff’s office is seeking leads in the case. Call 817-579-3316 if you have information.
