The Hood County COVID Vaccine Hub will offer extended hours Thursday evening (April 22) for those whose schedules make it difficult for them to get shots during normal business hours.

The vaccination site will be open until 8 p.m. that night.

Meanwhile, Hood County Emergency Management Coordinator Jay Webster reported Monday afternoon that the county had experienced three new COVID deaths since his previous update on April 5, bringing the total to 126.

Of 38 active case, five were hospitalized. The others were instructed to self-isolate at home. As of Monday, 46 new cases had been reported for April.

Shots of the two-dose Moderna vaccine are being given at the Granbury ISD Administration Building at 217 N. Jones St.

Workers are continuing to accept walk-ins from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Hood County is currently at moderate risk of COVID-19 transmission, according to Webster.
