No GISD bus students injured in two-vehicle accident

None of the 13 GISD students who were on board a school bus that was involved in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon (Jan. 14) were injured, according to Jeff Meador, director of communications for the school district.

“A GISD school bus was involved in a two-vehicle accident near the front entrance of Pecan Plantation on Friday afternoon when another vehicle turned in front of the bus to enter a commercial establishment,” Meador stated via text message to the Hood County News. “Thirteen GHS students were (on) board but not injured; students were being picked up or transported home by another district vehicle.”

When asked about an unconfirmed report of one person from the other vehicle being transported to an area hospital for medical treatment, Meador stated, “That’s my understanding. That driver was Care-Flighted.”
