A Hood County 911 call was received early Thursday evening indicating that someone had jumped off the main bridge that spans Lake Granbury, but the incident resulted in a citation being issued to the person, officials told the Hood County News.

The person who jumped, age unknown, was an adult male who told officers who arrived on the scene that he had jumped intentionally, according to Brazos River Authority spokesperson Judi Pierce. She said that the man was not injured, but he was issued the citation by a BRA lake ranger on the scene because jumping off a bridge on Lake Granbury from that height is unsafe and is against BRA regulations.

First responders as well as Granbury Police and the lake ranger arrived on the scene after the call came in to a 911 dispatcher at 7:26 p.m., according to information from the GPD.
