Sheriff: Convicted felon arrested with drugs, firearm

A 47-year-old Erath County man was arrested and booked into the Hood County Jail on two felony charges Sunday afternoon by Hood County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to a trespassing call on Elmwood Drive in Oak Trail Shores northwest of Granbury, according to Lt. Johnny Rose.

Rose stated in an email that Johnny Arthur Stacey, a Stephenville resident, “was violating a protective order and found to be in possession of a 30-30 rifle, under a gram of meth, and multiple Xanax pills.”

Stacey is facing the following charges, according to Rose: felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony ($15,000 bond); possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony ($10,000 bond); possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor ($3,000 bond); and violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor ($3,000 bond).

The suspect, who was taken into custody at about 1 p.m., remained in the Hood County Jail as of press time, according to Rose.
