Sheriff: Joshua man facing two felony drug charges

A 60-year-old man with a Joshua address was arrested Wednesday afternoon by members of the Hood County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit conducting a drug investigation and charged with two felony drug counts and one misdemeanor, according to Lt. Johnny Rose.

Richard Alton Hatfield was arrested at about 3:45 p.m. on June 23 near the 200 block of Industrial Avenue in Granbury and booked into the Hood County Jail, Rose stated in an email.

Hatfield is facing a third-degree felony count of possession of a controlled substance (3 grams of methamphetamine) with a $10,000 bond and a state jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (under one gram of mushrooms) with a $5,000 bond, Rose said. Hatfield was also charged with a Class B misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana (under 2 ounces), with a bond of $1,000.
