A 31-year-old Granbury man is accused of using a baseball bat to assault a 64-year-old man in what was described as a road rage encounter, according to Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Johnny Rose.

Frank Avalos was taken into custody at about 11 a.m. on Aug. 17 by deputies in the 3200 block of Ashwood Drive. Avalos was taken to the Hood County Jail, where he was booked on a second-degree felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

“The charge stems from Avalos confronting a 64-year-old man after a road rage encounter at the 4200 block of Lakeview Road (on Aug. 10) and allegedly assaulting him with a baseball bat,” Rose stated. “The victim was not seriously injured during the incident.”
